Our Objectives

Our Objectives for vulnerable children are to:

  • Increase their self-confidence, resilience and curiosity about the world
  • Enhance their mental wellbeing through learning to trust in others
  • Increase their social skills at home, at school and with their peers through respecting and valuing them as individuals
  • Improve their school attendance, concentration and school performance
  • Extend their horizons and skills through participating in a range of simple but enjoyable recreational activities
  • Prevent them from taking a wrong course in life through mental health problems/addictions/anti-social behaviour/teenage pregnancy or offending
  • To help each child fulfil their potential in life

Our Values and Principles:

  • We give priority to the safety and welfare of children in need and work to clear and comprehensive child protection procedures. All volunteers, staff and trustees are police checked through the Criminal Records Bureau and FUN encourages an 'awareness culture' that fosters 'whistle blowing' where necessary.
  • We are committed to working in a non-discriminatory and inclusive way with all who come into contact with the project.
  • All casework is monitored and evaluated by experienced caseworkers and a consultant child protection expert advises staff on child safety.
  • We believe in a partnership approach with parents.
